Muskoka Wedding Show

Well we did it! We kicked off our promising-to-be busy 2012 at the Muskoka Wedding Show this past weekend. Being ‘newbies’ to the event we weren’t sure what to expect. It’s a great time! A weekend of chatting up happy couples, snacking on delicious treats, toasting a glass of wine with new friends, and soaking up all things wedding. Did we mention the wine?!
If you didn’t make it this year, be sure to in 2013. Some truly talented and spectacular vendors show up to show off their stuff.

After some pre-designing and a big pack up we were off to Gravenhurst- trailer hitched.
Here is our rustic elegance booth!

Look who made it to the show with us! Our pals Wmac Photography and KHI (Kate Hood) Photography!

Lisa and Shawn- Muskoka Winter Wedding

What is the next best thing about December other then Christmas? A wedding! Lisa and Shawn’s Wedding! This years December in Muskoka was much milder then average, with periodic rain drops instead of snow flakes, but that didn’t hinder Lisa and Shawn from having a magical December wedding.
Lisa went simple, but striking with deep red (her favorite colour) Gerbera daisies and limited greens. Poinsettia’s (the seasons flower) accented the ceremony and reception.
Lisa and Shawn we wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Here are those deep red Gerbera daisies…

All Hallows Eve- In Carnations

Something spooky is happening at our studio! Curious?
Can you believe Halloween is only a week away? Holidays are the perfect excuse to decorate. Decorating for the holidays doesn’t mean breaking your piggy bank. You can add some Halloween flare to your home using select items you have lingering around. Take a cabbage, place it in an old fish bowl or glass jar, immerse it in water and add food colouring.
Et Voila! You have a preserved ’brain’!

Here is our studio all spooked out for Halloween.

P.s Stay tuned for our studio all decked for Christmas! We love Christmas!

Peeled cabbage in murky water resembles a brain…muhaha!

L & J- Algonquin Park Wedding

We are so very excited to share this wedding with you. Meet Lisa and James, now Mr. and Mrs!
After our first visit with Lisa and her mama, we were counting down the days till the big day (we may have been almost as excited as they were!). Why? Well Lisa has amazing taste and a very unique sense of style. The themes included in their wedding- Algonquin Park (love!) and Peacock feathers (LOVE!). Not only did Lisa want to break away from the norm and include peacock feathers in their floral designs, she also wanted cascade bouquets! What did I tell you- she has style!
James and Lisa are such wonderful, fun, loving people. The kind of people you instantly take a liking to and feel as if you’ve been friends forever (you’ll see a glimpse of that in the photo’s).

Lisa and James- We wish you a lifetime of smiles and happiness (no doubt you will have just that!)
We wish we lived closer! Visit with us again soon! xo

Big thanks to the very talented Erika Jacobs of Odd Sparrow Photography, she’s fantastic! Please check out her website and blog.

A & M- North Bay Fall Wedding

Introducing Amy and Matt! After our first consult with the mother of the bride, Janet and bride, Amy we knew it would be a treat designing for Amy and Matt’s big day. Why you might ask? Amy wanted to incorporate some natural elements that would compliment the fall season in her floral designs. With big smiles on our faces, we said perfect, done!
A beautiful fall inspired wedding, complete with varying shades of red and orange, berries and twigs. Simply beautiful.

Amy and Matt, wishing you both and your animals many years of smiles!

P.S Guess who we worked with? Surprise! Our dear pal, the talented  Wmac Photography! Click here for a link to her post – Here

Meghan and Dylan-Married-Muskoka

Meghan is one of the most relaxed brides you
will ever meet, and her mother is the biggest sweet heart. This wedding was so
much fun designing for because of all the little added details. Remember that
famous wedding rhyme? “Something old, something new, something borrowed,
something blue”. Well this couple followed this rhyme. We had a touch of
blue flowers in the bouquets, a borrowed wiener dog broach, grandmother’s old
lace, and a newly married couple.

The couple was married at the Northridge Inn and Resort in Sundridge
(haven’t been? Imagine being married right out on the water!) and couldn’t have
asked for a more beautiful day!

Meghan and Dylan, we wish you a very happy life together. If that rhyme is
right, you are destined for good luck!

Here are a few photos from our wedding day set-up.

Erica and Dan- Married at the Delta Sherwood Inn

I’ve been anxiously waiting to share this one with you. From the
moment we met Erica and her sweet mother I knew we were soul mates. Sounds
weird? Well I say soul mates because we were on the same page and finishing
each other’s sentences after our first consult. She wanted rustic elegance,
simple yet glamorous. With a love for soft, dainty flowers we picked florals
that fit the rustic Muskoka theme yet complimented their elegant wedding day.

Erica and Dan were married at the breath taking Delta Sherwood Inn in Port
Carling. Working along with Kyna (the Delta Sherwood Inn’s event coordinator extraordinaire)
we decorated the event with Muskoka inspired flare. So much fun.

Erica and Dan we wish you a lifetime of happiness! Enjoy your travels.

We loved being a part of your day.

Here they are.

Caroline and Keith- Married in Muskoka

Here’s a fun one! A super-fun bride all the way from Scotland!  Caroline was such a funky bride, with a romantic garden party wedding. It was such a pleasure to meet with Caroline, her daughter and her parents. We wish Keith and Caroline and their sweet family a happy future. We were honoured to be a part of your special day.

Thanks to Tracy of Family Tree Photography for the photo’s! Haven’t checked her out yet? You should!
